Covers
On the billboard music magazine cover, Brent Faiyaz is the star vehicle. Christopher Brent Faiyaz was born in 1995 in Maryland USA, he is widely known as a staple of R&B culture. He first made his appearance on the R&B scene in 2013 and hit the ground running, since then his career has continued to grow and he is now recognised globally. He has said on billboard magazine he first found his love for music at just 6 years old when he was gifted his first keyboard. At the age of 18 he moved out of his family home influenced by his fathers persuasion after his family grew tired of the noise he made whilst recording his songs, and officially said 'My father didn’t like that shit so I had to go. I had to thug it'.
Later that year (2014) he moved to Los Angeles, California to further pursue his growing music career.
On the jazz magazine cover, Ambrose Akinmusire is the star vehicle. Ambrose Akinmusire was born in 1982 in Oakland, California, USA. He found his love of jazz when he joined his high school jazz ensemble.
The masthead is at the top of the magazine covers to immediately attract the eye of the viewer. Both covers use a bold sans serif font.
Billboard magazine has just one main image, whilst jazz has a main image and a smaller image to the right side of the cover.
There are only four cover lines on billboard magazine, and a whopping nine of jazz magazine
there is no barcode or any institutional information on the billboard magazine, but there usually is if the cover is sold. however jazz magazine has a barcode.
On billboard magazine there are five different fonts used however all stick to the same sans serif style and only slightly vary in size. jazz magazine use six different fonts that all stick to the same sans serif style, but do massively vary in size.
